Name: Kelly Sedinger
Job: Writing, and Maintenance at a large retail store. Nice job for writing, actually — I found years ago that a desk job, sitting in front of a computer for eight hours, makes me want to write when I get home about as much as I’d want a root canal.
Usual Genres: Science fiction, fantasy, and horror. I have a long love of space opera in particular.
Eye Color: Blue/Hazel
Hair Color: Brown but graying into elder respectability.
Favorite Color: Purple. But lately, orange is making a strong push for my affections.
Favorite Bands: Van Halen, The Beatles, Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors, Blackmore’s Night. I also love classical music, film music, and Celtic music.
Favorite Book: Heh, got all day? Favorite authors include Tolkien, Guy Gavriel Kay, Christopher Moore, Nick Bantock, Carl Sagan, Neil DeGrasse Tyson, Andre Norton, Lois McMaster Bujold, Neil Gaiman, Stephen King, JK Rowling, James SA Corey, Arthur C Clarke, Mary Stewart, and many more.
Other places you can find stuff about/by me: I’m all over the place, really. You name the platform, I’m likely on it. Or, at least registered to use it but slightly confused as to how it really works (I’m looking at you, Pinterest). Here’s a brief list:
My personal blog (open since February 2002!), Byzantium’s Shores. This is my “geek home,” as it were. This site will mostly focus on my writing-related content, while Byzantium’s Shores is where I will let my geek-flag fly. That’s the best place to find various stuff about the kind of weird individual I am — start with One Hundred (and more) Things About Me, or A Pie in the Face is a Wonderful Thing (seriously).
My tumblr (warning: I am most likely to get political on Tumblr), Driftwood Upon the Bosporus, is another good source of geeky stuff. Tumblr is more geared toward sharing visual content, so naturally, that’s mostly what you’ll see there. It is also where I will generally tend to post my occasional political rants, when I get in that mood, so your best chance of seeing me indulge my Inner Liberal is there. But even so, I’m not all that political over there.
I’m on Twitter, Instagram, and Flickr; I use Twitter and Instagram all the time, and Flickr a lot but not as much as the first two. I’m more sporadic than I should be on Goodreads; this depends on how my reading productivity is going (as of this writing I am slogging through a doorstop of a Western). I also have an author page on Facebook, but that particular platform isn’t terribly useful nowadays. Finally, there is my Official Amazon Author Page, where the most important information of all resides: the links to buy my books!
