  1. Thank you for posting this. Would you resort to adding erotica to a story if it meant sales? After fifty shades of grey the whole mommy porn thing is getting popular. I think its cheap but for those of us unpublished….

  2. If you want to write erotica, rock on! If not, then don't. In general, I think trying to tailor one's writing to the marketplace isn't terribly likely to result in success, but I could be very, very wrong in that. In my own preferred genres, military SF sells robustly, but I have zero desire to write that. Besides, you never know what market trends will be in a few years, and by the time your erotica-filled story is hitting editors' desks, they may have moved on. Make the story you're writing as good as it can possibly be, trends aside.

    I don't think that you can make the lightning strike.
