  1. I've only seen it once. I've had no problems with the prequels or the tv show set in the prequel era. I was angry with the film. However, I knew going in that it would be an Abrams' film and at least knew what I would be in for. I am still angry that the film was basically a note for note rehash of Star Wars IV with elements of V and VI thrown in. I wouldn't have minded it as much if it hadn't been for all the illogical moments: e.g. Rey can do the Jedi Mind Trick that it takes months if not years to learn, when she hasn't had any formal Jedi education. Also, why does she have those visions when she touches the lightsaber? If it's because she's strong in the force, why didn't Luke have visions when Obi-Wan gave it to him? What's the point in having a planet killer that's stationary? What happens to it when it runs out of planets to kill in its radius? Things like that drove me nuts. I'm sorry for the rant.
From now on, I'm going to do a reverse Disney and consider everything Lucas had a direct hand in as canon, and everything else as a pleasant (or not so pleasant) legend.

  2. Josh: Goodness! Stay tuned, because I hit a lot of those elements in posts to come. They're running each day this week until Friday! (I'm not as grumpy about the film as you, but I grant all those faults.)
