It’s amazing how much stuff you learn as a parent that you’d just as soon have lived your whole life not knowing at all.
Such as the original meaning of the term “nitpicking”.

FWIW, the electric combs really do work, and often get the buggers before you could even see them with your own eyes.

I had a similar experience last week. After an unfortunate blockage in our sewer line, I found myself literally using a rake on a puddle of muck. I was muckraking!
It pretty much ruled.
