IMAGE OF THE WEEK

The Great Wall of China, obviously.

Via John Scalzi I see this journal dedicated to chronicling a mother’s journey through China with a group of high school students. The journal is full of good photos, including the above stunning panoramic view of the Wall. I like “microblogs” like this, sort-of online travelogues.

(As for the Wall itself, every time I look at a picture of it ascending steep inclines like this, I think of the sheer force of will — as well as the likely brutality — it took to get it built.)
