I’m currently reading The Arabian Nights, so here is some music in that vein: a suite from Bernard Herrmann’s score to The 7th Voyage of Sinbad.
Of course, the ultimate work in this vein is Rimsky-Korsakov’s stunning Scheherazade, of which I’ll have more to say at a later date.
