So, the other day we enacted one of our favorite annual rituals: a day at the Erie County Fair. We’ve been going to the Fair ever since 2001 or 2002, the first year we actually lived in the Buffalo area. It’s always been one of our favorite things about living in this area. Our county is populous enough to have a big fair, but it’s also got enough farmland to have a fair that’s got a really nicely agricultural feel to it. We love most things about the fair: walking the Midway, seeing the farm animals, noting the expressions ofDown the rabbit hole….
My biography?, originally uploaded by Jaquandor. I just finished the book pictured herein, and wondered briefly if the title could apply to me…but of course not! As if I could love books too much. Anyway, the title sounds like a 1950s detective movie, hence the black and white. Look for the sequel, “The Man Who Wore Overalls Too Much”. Coming in 2011 to bookstores near you! Duz 1946, originally uploaded by autumnsensation. I saw this ad on Flickr and it cracked me up. I’d never heard of “DUZ” before; obviously its heyday as a product was well before my time. I found the picture funny, though, because of that guy strutting around in the overalls, without a shirt underneath. I mean, I know they’re comfy and they keep most everything covered, but you still gotta wear a shirt under those things. And a bowler hat? Huh? And that’s a Sunday outfit?! In fact, fans of Firefly might think, as I did, that this guy looks aDown the rabbit hole….
The other day I was wandering through Google Maps, using the satellite view to look at places I once lived and such. I was scrolling through the Portland, OR area, and I saw something that really caught my eye. Apparently the Google satellite managed to snap its shutter as a speedboat was completing a 180 degree turn on the Willamette River, creating a really neat wake captured from space: I just thought that was really cool.
