  1. Yet another thing we have in common, sir — our typing skills. Like you, I learned from doing, both privately and by being a secretary for umpteen years.

    I use my Toshiba Satellite laptop (windows 7) and MS Word. For backups I have a collection of flash drives that I just plug into the USB port. And, like you, I'm not changing until I have absolutely no choice!

  2. I CANNOT type on a tablet (yet) to save my life. I must strike it too softly or something, but letters I swore I typed aren't there.

  3. I taught myself to type when I was six, on this huge metal typewriter that was mounted inside a desk. You lifted up the desktop and the manual typewriter swung up from inside it. The entire desk was awesome and unwieldy. I can still remember the smell of the ink ribbon. Now I'm going to have to Google that…
