From Fantasia 2000, here’s one of my favorite segments: an excerpt from Shostakovich’s Second Piano Concerto, used to score the fairy tale “The Steadfast Tin Soldier”.

I should see this – or see again. Seems that I watched at least part of Fantasia 2000 and was bothered by the clash between the old stuff and the new – not better or worse, just not particularly complementary.
