I continue to discover stuff about New Blogger. First of all, if you view any single post on this blog by itself (click the permalink to do this), there’s a sidebar item called “Previously on Byzantium’s Shores“. This used to consist of a list of the eight or nine posts immediately preceding whatever particular post you’d be reading, but now it seems that this always lists the most recent eight or nine posts published. In other words, if you go to some post from two years ago in my archives, the “Previously on…” list would be the eight or nineDown the rabbit hole….

Blogger has just now allowed me to migrate Byzantium’s Shores onto the “new and improved” version of Blogger. What does this mean for this venerable blog? I have no idea. But I’ll have to do some playing around this weekend. I like new, shiny stuff. UPDATE: Well, this all looks well and good. I suppose, for the purposes of this venerable blog, that this doesn’t mean much at all, except that I can now label my posts. Of course, I have over 5,400 posts at this point, so the likelihood of me labeling each one of those is, shall weDown the rabbit hole….

REVISED 1-30-10. I don’t recall it ever happening before, but apparently a reader had a strong negative reaction to my blog this evening and left comments to that effect on a couple of posts (the ones immediately following this one, if you’re curious). Hey, to each his own and all that; nobody is universally loved, after all. I mean, Gandhi came pretty close — and he got assassinated. But the comments left give me cause to revisit my comments policy, which I now realize I haven’t revised since I switched from the YACCS system to the Blogger one. 1. ThisDown the rabbit hole….
