  1. Really sire, Captain Pierce ranks a mention in your list but not Captain Christopher Pike?

Talk abounds that those prone to rebellion in the shire were ready to give his majesty a pass but then you included mention of the Captain and Tennille which is just not forgivable.

I fear a the rumblings are increasing. We are holding fast in the lands of obvious but are in dire need of justification for your continued antics. We are half expecting links for IKEA and Body Sculpting to appear on Byzantium Shores itself

  2. I can think of one fictional colonel who was not a desk jockey: Colonel Jack O'Neill in Stargate: SG1.

I agree completely about Captain Kirk and Captain Reynolds. However, of all the Star Trek captains, I have to admit that I have a soft spot for Captain Picard. I can't resist a cultured guy with a British accent even he does claim to be French.

I liked the later years of M*A*S*H much better than the earlier years. Maybe it was a better comedy in the early years. It sort of turned into a drama and that's when I really started to like it. Also, I absolutely could not stand Frank Burns. I never thought he was funny.

  3. I think it was clear that Jaq was trying to restrict himself to one captain from a particular milieu.

Also, Frank Burns wasn't supposed to be funny. He was just there to be the butt of everyone else's jokes.

  4. Sitcoms are now Milieu's of innovation?

    Huh

Wait, I think I hear something crumbling..

  5. If I've never mentioned it to you before, you should totally check out the song "Tiberius Rising" by my darling hubby's band, Ookla the Mok. 😉

  6. IThe first half season of MASH, it was learning to be a show. Caught its bearings by the time it got rid of Col. Blake into the first several years of Potter. But it should have ended when Radar left; they started recycling, big time.

And on another topic, that must be Toni Tennile's sister, or maybe sisters.
