What’s your favorite sappy 1970s love ballad? Represent, fans of “You Light Up My Life”!!! Share This Post 2013-07-03
The theme from "Arthur" by Christopher Cross: "When you get caught between the moon and New York City, I know it's crazy, but it's true…"
"If" by Bread, so sappy that it makes my ears sticky! SK Waller, "Arthur's Theme" was 1981. Forgive my hair-splitting. 🙂
I don't know if it's a ballad per se, but the first thing that came to mind was "Afternoon Delight" by the Starland Vocal Band.
Annie's Song. Close second: Time in a Bottle.
Superstar (Delaney & Bonnie, Rita Coolidge, the Carpenters)
Midnight Blue (Melissa Manchester)

Sometimes When We Touch, by Dan Hill.
Leo Sayer's "When I Need You." I always thought he and Richard Simmons were separated twins ;-p
