The first big snowfall of the year occurred in Syracuse this weekend. There are now approximately eight inches or so on the ground. The view out our patio door in this apartment is much wider than the view at the Buffalo apartment we recently left; here I can look across a wide section of the local golf course at some distant houses. The effect is that even on the dark days of winter, it’s brighter inside than at our last home.
