Four years

“I have to remind myself that some birds aren’t meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright. And when they fly away, the part of you that knows it was a sin to lock them up does rejoice. Still, the place you live in is that much more drab and empty that they’re gone.”

I was wondering just the other day what the exact date was, so I went back and re-read some of the story. Still incredibly moving.

Thinking of you and yours on this day.

Not a day goes by that I don't think of Quinn (and a few other little ones who left their parents behind). I knew your wife from ICAN back in the day.
I woke up this morning and remembered with sadness. What the day was.
Not on ICAN anymore… but thought I'd drop by and say.

    I remember him too.

I must say I truly admire how strong the bond you and your wife must have. I know a couple couples well whose marriages were destroyed by the loss of their respective children.
