I had a vacation last week, and I spent a good chunk of the last day of it doing some much-needed domestic stuff. Including–gulp!–tidying up the Great Overalls Collection, which had in truth over time devolved into the Great Overalls Pile. Well, after quite a bit of sorting and rolling, the job is done:

Also, I got an actual count of the collection, and it’s a good thing I decided to call this a “collection” a while back, because having a lot of stuff is fine if you call it a collection. If I just called this “my clothes”, I’d look like a nut. But since it’s a collection, it’s totally normal!
Shut up. It’s normal.
Oh, and that count? Well, let’s put it this way: If I start tomorrow with a regimen where I wear a different pair of overalls from my collection each day, with no repeats, the day I finally reach the end will be Halloween. And that’s assuming that the Curator does not execute any new acquisitions in that time frame. [tugs collar nervously]
On a related overallish note, if you saw Kevin Smith’s classic indie movie Clerks back in the day, you may remember a short montage where our heroes, Dante and Randal (store clerks at a convenience store and a video store, respectively) are comparing notes about particularly annoying customers, and there’s this one young woman, very cute in a black long-sleeve shirt under vintage Lee overalls, asks Randal if the video store has any new movies (she’s standing with her back to the “New Release” wall) and Dante how much something is (she’s plucked it off a display with a GIANT sign reading “EVERYTHING HERE IS $0.99!!!”). Well, it suddenly occurred to me yesterday that I can actually cosplay as that woman. Here I am, alongside the Dumb Questions Girl from Clerks!

OK, back at ’em. My library isn’t gonna clean itself….
