After a conversation on Facebook this morning about how cool US Route 20 is (US 20 runs from Boston, MA to Newport, OR…and right past Casa Jaquandor…and through the part of Iowa where my college is), here’s the question: what’s your favorite road and what’s so great about it?

I still have a soft spot for US 2 that runs along the southern coast of the UP of Michigan. For years my family would travel that road from the Mackinac Bridge to my grandmother's home in Rapid River.
I used to be able to name off all the small towns on that route, in order. I could probably still name many of them, even though Grandma's been gone for more than 20 years.
Yonge Street. Longest street in the world, baby!
The PCH! (Pacific Coast Highway, US 1. Beautiful beaches and coastline views.
PA Route 88 along the Monongahala river near where I live, looking from the road across the river there's a great view of the hills that always catches me, whether it's spring/summer, autumn or snow-covered winter, always a great view to me.
Route 20 in Albany is about a block from my house!
I-84 E in Oregon, from Portland into the Columbia River Gorge. I drive it to work every morning, and "when the mountain is out" (as they say here about Mt. Hood) it takes my breath away — beautiful sky colors, cool cloud formations and the most perfectly moutain-shaped mountain in the world.
