Once again, our DSL was very buggy yesterday and continuing into today, hence the lack of posting. But anyway: one of the local sports-talk radio guys here claimed on the air a few weeks ago that he had just that morning eaten his first banana. Ever. In his life. And he’s over 40. White American male, over 40, ate his first-ever banana in 2011. Am I alone in thinking that this is incredibly weird?

ummm, not unless he meant, "that kind of banana" wink, wink.
"Am I alone in thinking that this is incredibly weird? "
No.
I mean, really… when I was a kid, I basically thought there were only three kinds of fruit in the world (certainly there were only three that ever turned up in my lunchbox): apples, oranges, and bananas.
hmm..thught I responded to this. well, yeah, the guy must be bananas not to have ever had a banana.
I'm the opposite-weird I guess, I used to like bananas as a kid, but lost a taste for them after the age of 10. I'll eat banana containing food (fruit salad for example). But I don't go for the banana itself, can't explain.
