The sound of bits dying, one by one

If any of my readers are particularly tech-savvy and can give Jayme some advice on his current tale of tech woe, I’m sure he’d be appreciative. It seems that all of his data — all of it — was on an external hard drive that was somehow messed up beyond repair, or so he’s told, but the gentlest of bumps. Ouch.

And now if you’ll excuse me, I need to run my own backups.
