I kind of figured that LC Scotty would get Unidentified Earth 24, but I didn’t figure he’d beat it up and take its lunch money! His comment was gold, so I’ll let him have the last word on that one: Oh, I so efffing have this one!!!! It’s Halona Cove, on the Eastern side of Oahu-made famous as the beach from From Here to Eternity. I can’t believe I got one!! Interesting tidbit: I went SCUBA diving there when I was stationed at Pearl Harbor. On our way back in, well after dusk (read well into shark feeding time) thereDown the rabbit hole….

It’s the twenty-fourth installment! Woo-hoo! Or something. Anyway, Unidentified Earth 23 was identified fairly quickly. It’s the Piazza dei Miracoli in Pisa, Italy. That smaller, lopsided-looking building at the lower right of the image I used? That’s the Leaning Tower of Pisa. OK, here we go again. Let’s see how we do with this one! Where are we? Unidentified Earth 21 has finally been Identified! I suspect that part of the problem was that, as I admitted in a subsequent post, I had cropped the image of the location so that only half of the really famous part was showing, which made it harder, of course. Because I’m just devious, I’ll tell you what! Here’s the entire location: Yup, it’s Stone Mountain, near Atlanta, Georgia. Hence the hints I dropped: “Tomorrow is another day”, a line from Gone With the Wind, set in Atlanta; an allusion to Atlanta’s water supply problems; “Quit stonewalling, people!”, a reference to StonewallDown the rabbit hole….

Well, Unidentified Earth 22 went unidentified for all of a few hours, as I figured would happen. It is, indeed, Glastonbury Tor, one of my “Geez, I hope I don’t die before I see that” world locations. Fifty Quatloos to each person who got it right. And I note again that Unidentified Earth 21 is still awaiting identification! Come on, people! Quit stonewalling! (And that’s another hint. Any more and I’m going to have to declare victory.) Now’s the time for another entry. I suspect this one’s not terribly hard either, so have at it, folks. Where are we? (AndDown the rabbit hole….

Unidentified Earth 21 is still unidentified! This is, as yet, the most successful entry in this series. I think I’ll celebrate with a cold glass of water. (Which is hard to come by these days ’round that location. Heh.) Share This PostDown the rabbit hole….

OK, time for the next installment — even though Unidentified Earth 21 is still unidentified. Oh well; tomorrow is another day. (There’s another hint.) Anyhoo, time for the new installment! This one’s probably pretty easy: Where are we? Rot-13 your guesses, please! Share This PostDown the rabbit hole….

Hmmmmm…Unidentified Earth 21 is still unidentified. Here’s a hint: I cut the notable feature of this location in half for the image used in the original post. Also, Unidentified Earth 20 has been identified — actually this happened last week, and I was remiss in noting it. It is the ancient city of Petra, located in present-day Jordan. In the second hint, I noted that part of the Unidentified Earth location, but not the part I used for the puzzler, was used in a famous movie, but as a totally different location. The film is Indiana Jones and the LastDown the rabbit hole….

Wow — as yet, both of the last two Unidentified Earth installments, numbers 20 and 21, remain unidentified. Time for another hint for number 20, I guess. Part of this location — but not the part featured — appeared in a pretty well-known film, albeit as a different location within the film. Confused? I thought so! In other words, in the movie this location was referred to as someplace else. I’ll hold off on hints about Number 21 until after it’s gone unidentified for more than a week. Well, well, well! It seems that either I’ve come up with a stumper, or no one’s following this series anymore…anyway, Unidentified Earth 20 has gone as yet unidentified, with only one guess offered. Tsk, tsk, tsk. I suppose I should offer a hint, so…it is in the Middle East. Ah well, the show goes on; time for the next puzzler. Where are we? Rot-13 your guesses, please!
