  1. Dream on about Cowher sire. I had the same wish last year for the Browns. IMO, if he did not come back to coach the Browns whom he played and worked for then he aint going to Buffalo. Especially if Marv is going to remain GM. Coaches want TOTAL control these days.

  2. Really well written piece there, and a very enjoyable read. And I was going to say that even BEFORE the part where you picked my team to repeat. I really busted a gut reading this bit: "For years the Bills have come out after bad losses acting like the guy at the office who just had a day where the printer ran out of toner every time he tried to print."

Good luck this year. And if you're into random nonsense augury: my almost-3-year-old daughter has recently been asking, every time I've got a football game on the TV, "Is that Buffalo?" I have no idea why. I don't even think she watched the Buffalo/Steelers preseason game with me. No idea how she even associates Buffalo with football.

  3. Go Eagles. I'd like McNabb to get to another Super Bowl before he is summarily ushered out the door by Vick.

  4. I remember reading that no excellent coach would come to Buffalo because of the uncertainty of future ownership issues. Oh,and Marv isn't the GM anymore.

  5. I'm not sure that's true — I think it's more likely that no coach will come here because Ralph Wilson simply won't pay for a top-dollar coach, nor will he yield that much control to a single person. Wilson seems to have issues with not being the person in control. Ownership questions or no, I think that if the money was right and he was given the control he wants, Cowher would come here. But it will NEVER happen, obviously.

And to think that I wrote this post before the Bills cut their supposedly starting left tackle! Now I'm starting to wonder if Wilson isn't quietly dumping salary in anticipation of the CBA running out, making next year cap-free, or preparing for a lockout.

  6. a guy on ESPN picked the BENGALS as the 2nd WC team in the AFC. heck, I have no idea.

    Go Giants!
