OK, at long last, the 43rd installment of this series. Hooray! First, some bookkeeping: :: I knew last week’s would be easy, and it was: UI 42 was the Brooklyn Bridge. :: But still no guesses on UI 40 and UI 41? Come on, folks! Don’t make me tape all of your buns together. And UI 41 is more famous for its proximity to an already famous location than for itself being famous. OK, that out of the way, time for the new puzzler: Where are we? Rot-13 your guesses, folks! Share This PostDown the rabbit hole….

Yeesh, folks! No guesses at all on the last two entries, so I guess it’s Draconian Hint Time. For UI 41, you’ve seen this location a lot if you watch ESPN during the summertime. And UI 40 is the kind of place that can change your life, if you spend a Saturday there. OK, hint time aside, this week’s entry is probably really easy, but they all can’t be hard, right? Where are we? Rot-13 thy guesses, folks. Share This PostDown the rabbit hole….

Here we go again. Last week’s entry still has no guesses, which displeases me; there’s gotta be one neo-maxi-zoom-dweebie amongst my readership. UI 38 was finally identified, after some hint-giving by me, as the field near Clear Lake, IA where the plane carrying Buddy Holly, the Big Bopper, and Richie Valens crashed. Anyhow, time for the new entry: Where are we? Rot-13 your guesses! Share This PostDown the rabbit hole….

OK, so here we are a day late. UI 39 was, as I expected, guessed correctly very quickly: that’s Abbey Road in London, the famous intersection that John, Paul, George and Ringo are striding across on the cover of one of those Beatles albums they did. UI 38, however, still has zero guesses! Come on, people! There’s a pretty famous song about what happened on this spot. And with that, time for the new installment: Where are we? Rot-13 your guesses, please! Share This PostDown the rabbit hole….

After taking a week off from Unidentified Earth last week, we now get back into it this week with a new entry below. However, UI 38, from two weeks ago, is as yet not only Unidentified, but not even guessed at. Hmmmm. Maybe this one was too hard? Nah, that can’t be it, but as is my policy, I always start leaving hints whenever a previous installment is still Unidentified when a new installment goes live, so: some years ago, several people saw this particular location much closer up than they, or anyone, would have liked. And now for theDown the rabbit hole….

The last two remaining installments have both been identified, at last! UI 35 is Elliot’s house from ET: The Extra-terrestrial (it’s the one with the longer driveway), while UI 37 is the Timberline Lodge on the slopes of Mt Hood in Oregon. As usual, one thousand Quatloos to the winner, although that winner is proving to be the same person each time out, so either I have to make this harder or reduce the prize. Heh! Anyway, time for the new location. Where are we? Rot-13 your guesses, folks! Share This PostDown the rabbit hole….

As I suspected, last week’s entry was nailed within hours of posting; it’s the lighthouse on Cape Hatteras, North Carolina. One thousand Quatloos to each correct guesser. However, UI 35 is still Unidentified! If any of you ever visit this place, make sure you beware of coyotes or alligators in the sewers. But not elves or leprechauns. Hmmmm…no takers thus far on UI 35, which in a way doesn’t surprise me all that much, since in this game, I have absolute power. Heh! But anyway, here’s one that I assume will be guessed very quickly. But it’s such a cool view of this location, I had to use it! Where are we? Rot-13 your guesses! Share This PostDown the rabbit hole….

Well, we’re now officially caught up: UI 33 was identified (after a hint from me) as the Temple of Hera near Olympia, Greece (where the Olympic torch is always initially lit), and last week’s UI 34 was pegged very quickly as the Ryugyong Hotel in Pyongyang, North Korea (fascinating story behind this location). Congrats to the winners! I’m sorry that the standard prize, 1000 Quatloos, are pretty much useless now that gas stations have stopped accepting Quatloos as payment for fuel, but there may be an outpost in the Australian Outback that still accepts Quatloos in exchange for large vatsDown the rabbit hole….

Well, last week’s installment has no guesses at all. I find that interesting; surely someone carries a torch for this spot! But anyhow, here’s the new installment: Where are we? Rot-13 your guesses, folks! Share This PostDown the rabbit hole….
