i probably mentioned this before. Friends of mine who had tickets for the Albany Symphony Orchestra gave us their tickets because the guy HATED Bolero. I find it better in person than on a recording, even a live recording.
There wasn’t ANYTHING on the program that could get him to sit through Bolero anyway? I mean, I don’t like it, but it’s only 15 minutes. If it’s on the program with, say, Rachmaninov’s Second and a Mozart piano concerto, I’d be fine!
And I LOVE watching musicians and especially this conductor so enjoying themselves.
