“Under Heaven”

One of my long-standing wishes is that Guy Gavriel Kay would turn his historical-fantasy approach to Asia — China, Japan, wherever. According to news posted by GGK himself to Bright Weavings, that’s exactly what he’s done with his new book:

The new novel is called UNDER HEAVEN. It is a long, single-volume historical fantasy inspired by the extraordinary Tang Dynasty, essentially 8th century China.

It will appear in the English-language markets in April and May of 2010.

Huzzah, again!

  1. Thee Earl of Obvious says:

Since his writing seems to be a commentary on the modern world, is it you wish that he write about the transitions both are making to consumerism, or is it the ancient culture of this region that fascinates you?
