In the “That’s what you get for asking the pertinent question after writing the chapter in question” Department: I posted a question to a Usenet group today, pertaining to an injury that I inflicted on one of my characters a few chapters ago. It turns out that I have mishandled it slightly, and I may need to go back and fix it — unless I can graft on a fix in the coming pages. That, I fear, would be a bit of a cheat. But of course I’m going to try it anyway, because as the Bard himself once said to no less a personage than Queen Elizabeth the First, “Rewriting sucks.”
