Serenity. It was my immediate choice but then I had to stop and think about it for a minute. Am I really picking the ship or am I just saying that because I really love Firefly? But yes, I really am picking Serenity strictly for the ship itself. It’s so homey and it has all those neat hiding places for smuggling.

I have to admit, the lack of an FTL drive is a serious drawback so if I planned to go very far I guess I’d have to take the Millennium Falcon but for just joyriding it has to be Serenity.

  2. Thee Earl of Obvious says:

The Millennium Falcon. Sure it may not have the bells and whistles of the Serenity but it is The Millennium Falcon. But that’ just me, if I was a bomber pilot and had a choice of a Stealth Bomber and the B-17 Memphis Belle to fly around during peace time, I would go with the Belle.

  3. jason says:

The Falcon, no question. I liked Firefly but always thought there was something just wrong about Serenity’s design. Never been able to put my finger on it… maybe it’s the anime-inspired organic-ness or something. I like my starships more industrial-looking perhaps.

  4. Roger Owen Green says:

I’m with Jason – Serenity looks like a metalic female whose legs are in a sack and whose hands are heavily wrapped.

  5. Call me Paul says:

Lynn’s right. It’s improtant to separate the ship from the show, and the crew. Doing that, I pick the Falcon, hands down.

Hyperdrive is a big part of it, but so is the cool shape. “Looks fast just sitting there…”

  6. Call me Paul says:

    Yes, I said, “improtant.”

  7. Aaron says:

I love Firefly, and love the Serenity, but c’mon, it’s the effin Falcon.

Wait, does Kaylee come with Serenity?

  8. Lynn says:

I agree that the Falcon has certain advantages. It looks cooler on the outside and it goes faster but the interior does nothing for me. If I’m going to take a ride in this thing I want a little comfort.

  9. jason says:

I grant that Serenity’s nice wooden dining table and that groovy vintage lounge chair (an Eames?) look more inviting than the Army surplus ejection seat on the Falcon’s mid-deck. And Kaylee would be a big selling feature, assuming she’s included in the asking price. (Biiiiiiigggg selling feature; I like that li’l mechanic girl.)

    But… but… it’s the Falcon man!

  10. LC Scotty says:

    Serenity, hands down.

I never noticed this detail before, but Serenity has port and starboard running lights (the red and green dots on the outboard nacelles) Nice touch.
